Gala Chair Ann M. Drake and NWS Artistic Director Stéphane Denève Invite You To Celebrate The New World Symphony’s Thirty-Sixth Anniversary Gala.  

This season, the New World Symphony will proudly recognize and celebrate the impact of women on classical music, spanning from composers and conductors to musicians, educators, administrators, and board members.

We cordially invite you to join us in commemorating NWS’s 36th anniversary alongside Gala Chair Ann Drake, Artistic Director Stéphane Denève, the talented NWS Fellows and special guest artists as we celebrate and honor the remarkable contributions of women to the world of classical music.

Meet Our Artistic Director

Stéphane Denève

Stéphane Denève is Artistic Director of the New World Symphony, Music Director of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and starting this year, Principal Guest Conductor of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic. He recently concluded terms as Principal Guest Conductor of The Philadelphia Orchestra and Chief Conductor of the Brussels Philharmonic, and previously served as Chief Conductor of Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra (SWR) and Music Director of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

Gabriela Montero, Piano

Gabriela Montero’s visionary interpretations and unique compositional gifts have garnered her critical acclaim and a devoted following on the world stage. Anthony Tommasini remarked in The New York Times that “Montero’s playing had everything: crackling rhythmic brio, subtle shadings, steely power…soulful lyricism…unsentimental expressivity.”

Ann M. Drake

Ann Drake is President and Founder of Lincoln Road Enterprises, an operational philanthropic organization focused on elevating women’s leadership and creating a future in which women are at the forefront of improving the world we live in. Lincoln Road advances key initiatives and affiliated non-profits with the purpose of impacting women’s leadership in the following fields: business, global supply chain, engineering and technology, infrastructure and design, and space and astrophysics.
