Beer and Brass goes Virtual

Adapting Concert Experiences for a Digital World

What do you do when an audience can no longer come to you? You go to them. On June 6, 2020 five Brass Fellows welcomed a virtual audience to a concert that paired music for brass quintet with beers from Miami brewery Veza Sur. Though COVID-19 prevented the concert from happening as planned at the New World Center, Fellows embraced the challenges of transitioning their project to a digital space. Their work was rewarded through an enthusiastic audience that was able to be larger and broader in the digital realm.

“Through leading the Beer and Brass concert series, I have learned so much about how we can connect with our community outside of the standard concert hall setting.”
