William and Patricia Kleh

William (Bill) and Patricia (Patty) Kleh are long-standing supporters of the New World Symphony and passionate advocates of the arts in Miami. Bill is a retired attorney with a career of more than 35 years in and around the investment management industry, at various times working as a partner in a national law firm and as a senior executive of several investment management companies. He has served as a New World Symphony Trustee since 2016 and is a member of its Development Committee. Since 2021 he has also participated as an active member of the Programming and Repertoire Subcommittee of NWS’s Culture Committee. In retirement Bill has also been active with a number of other non-profit institutions, including several years as a member of the Board of Overseers of Boston University (BU), and as a strong supporter of The Carter Center and Middlebury College.

Since 2010 Patty has served on the board of Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), where she co-chairs its Programming Committee and participates as a member of its Acquisition and Advancement committees. She is also actively involved as a member of Funding Arts Network, an organization providing needed funding and support to the performing and visual arts In Miami. Prior to 2020 she also served as a trustee and principal Miami liaison for ProjectArt, a national non-profit organization seeking to expand the reach of the visual arts in underserved communities through the creative use of local libraries. Patty was recently elected a trustee of Santa Fe, New Mexico-based School for Advanced Research, a multi-dimensional institute focusing on the archeology, anthropology, history and culture of indigenous populations in the American Southwest.

In recent years Bill and Patty, their daughter Erin and The Kleh Family Foundation have extended their philanthropy to a range of other activities including cancer research, international disaster relief and related medical clinics, a summer camp for Romanian children afflicted with cancer and rare blood disease, an annual lecture series at the London campus of Boston University and a visiting professorship of international law at Boston University, among others. Bill and Patty are also strong supporters of The Everglades Foundation and Tropical Audubon Society.
The Klehs attended their first NWS concert in 2011 and became significant donors two years later. Bill and Patty helped launch the NWS Collaborations Fund in order to focus support for partnerships with like-minded organizations in the Miami arts community. From inception, a major focus of this fund has been NWS’s annual “I Dream a World” festival, which, each February since 2022, has staged events highlighting the contributions of Black artists. The Collaborations Fund has also helped in past years to support joint performances with the Miami City Ballet, and collaborations with PAMM, The National WWII Museum, among others.
The Klehs’ leadership and generosity continue to shape a vibrant and engaging future for NWS and the broader Miami arts community.
